Question 7: How did you attract/address your audience?

In our media product "Amelia" we tried to appeal to a certain target audience. We aimed our production to be aimed at 16-19 year olds of both genders.

We addressed our audience by using particular actors which would appeal to the audience of the horror genre. For example in our film we used an attractive young blonde girl, this would attract the male audience, which is part of our target audience. We also emphasised on gender, we used this to attract/address our audience because it allowed them to connect with the main protagonist.

The set and locations that we have used in our horror film would attract our target audience because it is set in school, this therefore means that the audeince can relate to it, since our target audience should or has attended school.



We used sound because the music sets up the atmosphere such as, tension, sinster or creepy etc.  At the end of our film there is silence and this was very effective because it didn't give away anything but gives of a disturbing atmosphere, this leaves the audience with the unknown and they want to know what happened to the character. 

Our productions has key moments such as the blood on the tree, the target audience would find this part interesting, since it creates suspense and keep them wondering what happened and how it got there.
