Postmodern:
The impact of postmodern media on audiences and the ways in which we think about texts and movies
Postmodern media rejects the idea that any media product is of any greater value than another.

Female Leads:

There is an establised tradition of female leads within a horror genre, because female leads are generally virgins which shows that they are rather vunerable.

Social groups:

Social groups are groups of individuals in the society. For example, religion, gender, sexuality, age and disablity. These social groups are represented differently in horror movies.

Teenagers are represented in the media as:

• Lazy
• Anti Social Behaviour
• Sexual
• Hedonistc
• Pleasure Seeking
• Materlistic
• Reckless
• Fashion Conscious
• Body image Consious

Media representation can also be unrealistic e.g body image tehre is also a very negative and sexual representation of woman

In the film "The Shining" the main female protagonist also turned out to be a "final girl" she survived to the end. However the reprentation of the final girl varied throughout the film. I know this because she went from being strong and weak. This shows that the repesentation of woman in horror films can be shown in differently.
